- World AIDS Day was firstobserved in 1988 and ever since it is celebrated every year. The day is observed to create awareness among people against the spread of HIV infection.

Jharkhand Competitive Examination (Measure for Control and Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill, 2023
- Bill having provision of life imprisonment, for cheating in exams
- Which mandates a strict provision of life imprisonment
- Fine up to ₹10 crore, in case of cheating in competitive examinations
According to the Bill,
- if a printing press,
- the management system that conducts an examination,
- the person engaged in transport, or
- coaching institutes play the role of conspirator
- Then the punishment can range from 10 years to life imprisonment.
- There is also a provision to impose a fine ranging from ₹2 crore to ₹10 crore.
- Failure to pay the penalty will result in an additional three years of prison sentence.
Broadcast regulation 3.0, commissions and omissions
- The Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act of 1995, was the law to govern broadcasting till now,
- It faces challenges due to technological advancements and the emergence of new platforms for example DTH, OTT etc.
- Not the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in India has proposed theBroadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, 2023,
- To address the need for a comprehensive law to streamline the regulatory framework in the digitized broadcasting sector.
Centre agrees to examine demands for Ladakh safeguards
- Civil society organisations have been demanding Ladakh’s inclusion in the Sixth Scheduleof the Constitution and granting tribal status to the Union Territory.
- An expert committee with 22 member , will study these demands in detail and will recommend accordingly
- Chaired by Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, will have representatives from both Kargil and Leh divisions.
