How do I revise for the CLAT?

How do I revise for the CLAT?

As the CLAT exam is just a quarter of a month away, students would have been worried as to how they should proceed with their preparation in a manner that they do not miss out on important things and at the same time, they are not over-burdened so that everything is haphazard in their minds. Don’t worry students, there is a solution to every problem, and an answer to every question in the modern world; to answer the best of revising for CLAT having three months in hand, here are four ways that you should keep in mind:

A) Mock Tests- Students might have often heard where there teachers are telling them about mock tests and most of them would be after your lives that you should give more and more mock tests. However, your teachers are right because mock tests are quintessential of the best way of revising for your CLAT exam. Mock tests help you identify weaknesses and strengths, and more importantly help you to focus on understanding how thorough you are already with certain subjects while on what subjects you need to have a better command and more time for revision. So not doing mock tests is not a viable option and rather, the more you solve mock tests, the more you are on the right path of revision.

B) Engaging in discussions– Often you would see your friends standing a cluster and discussing about recent topics and other things related to your exams. Don’t think that standing with them and talking or giving your opinion would be a waste of time. Rather, engaging in discussions is a powerful method for revising and reinforcing your understanding. When you give your opinions, you reflect on your understanding till now of any subject, and the depth you have achieved. More importantly, it helps you introspect those areas where you lack preparation so that you can work on them accordingly.

C) Keep overconfidence outside your mind– Do not think that revising a topic that you are already confident about would be not beneficial. When preparing and revising, revise each topic thoroughly even if you are already prepared with it. It helps students to have a fresh perspective in mind about a certain topic which they might not be able to have during the time of their initial preparation. So, keep yourself always ready to revise everything and anything that is a part of your syllabus even after you are confident about the topic already.

D) Focus on application-based revision- Students should prioritize revising concepts and applications rather than attempting to rote learn any of the topics they have studied. Focussing on concepts will have an ever-lasting impact which will help students not only revise a particular topic but also help in applying that concept in other topics to have a multidisciplinary understanding. Even more, application-based revision is always useful for the legal aptitude section, where understanding how to apply the law is crucial.
