EPFO to hike interest rates on deposits
The Central Board of Trustees of the Employment Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has recommended to increase the interest rate by 0.05% on the Provident Fund Deposits. It will be applicable for 2022-23. It will benefit 27 crores account holders, which includes 7.1 million pensioners and 69 million monthly contributors.

UPI payments of over Rs. 2000 to attract up to 1.1% fee
The National Payments Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has notified an interchange fee of up to 1.1% on transactions using prepaid payment instruments on merchant UPI for payments over Rs. 2000. It will be effective from April 1, 2023. It will not be applicable on peer-to-peer and peer-to-peer merchant between bank accounts and PPI wallets.

Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C)
The incumbent Union Home Minister, Sri Amit Shah, said that more than 500 Internet-based applications have been blocked based on the recommendations of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). It is a nodal agency to curb cyber crime in India. The Union Home Ministry established it to enable law enforcement agencies to provide a coordinated response to cybercrimes.

SCO National Security Advisors Summit
India is set to host a meeting of the National Security Advisors of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). It is a part of the participatory meetings for the SCO Summit to be held in India in 2023. It will be chaired by the incumbent National Security Advisor of India, Sri Ajit Kumar Doval. The SCO consist of India, Iran, Pakistan, China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Myanmar dissolves Suu Kyi’s Party
The Election Commission of Myanmar dissolved the National League for Democracy (NLD) party. NLD failed to re-register under a new electoral law passed by the military rule in Myanmar. Aung San Suu Kyi is the leader of the NLD, and the Nobel Peace Prize winner in 1991.
