Delhi Summit
The G-20 summit offers a crucial platform for Heads of State and Government present to endorse a resolute leader’s declaration, affirming their dedication to a collective objective of tackling climate change. The G-20, major contributors to global fossil fuel production and greenhouse gas emissions, are increasingly committing to “net-zero” emissions and reduced fossil fuel use. To effectively combat climate change, the G-20 should collectively promote shared climate ambitions through cooperation, coordination, and competitiveness. In 2021, these nations boosted renewable energy in their energy mix to 29% from 19% in 2010, signaling progress. India, the world’s third-largest renewable energy producer, aims to raise renewables to 50% of energy output by 2030.
