On 14th June 1948, the Falkland Islands War was concluded between Argentina and the United Kingdom, with the surrender of the Argentine garrison at Port Stanley to the British military. The war started in 1982 and was fought between the warring nations to control the Falkland Islands in the Atlantic Ocean.

Disinflation is to be slow and long.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (R.B.I.) Governor, the disinflation process in India is to be slow and protracted, with the 4% inflation target to be met in the medium term. The Monetary Policy Committee of India aims to reduce inflation to 4% in the medium term and hold it between 2% and 6% in the long term. Disinflation is a slowdown in the rate of inflation.

Six thousand civilians were killed in Myanmar after the 2021 coup.
According to a report published by the Peace Research Institute of Oslo, over 6,000 civilians were killed in the first 20 months after the February 2021 military coup. According to the report, almost half of the deaths were due to actions taken by Army, Police, and the militias. The other half of the deaths were due to armed opposition groups.

Cyclone Biparjoy will not impact the monsoon.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Biparjoy is completely detached from the monsoonal flow and will not adversely impact the advance of the monsoon. Earlier, the cyclone pulled the moisture and convection, affecting the intensity and onset of the monsoon over Kerala. The monsoon hit India on 8th June in Kerala, a week later than normal.

India and U.S.A. to diversify semiconductor supply chain.
The National Security Advisor (N.S.A.) of the U.S.A., Jake Sullivan, while addressing the round table on “Advancing India-U.S. Initiative on Critical and Emerging technologies (iCET),” organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), said that India and U.S.A. would diversify the supply chains of the semiconductor and other critical technologies to lead the revolution in Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), advanced computing, biotech, and quantum computing.
