He was attending a peace rally in Tel Aviv when he was shot and killed by a Jewish extremist named Yigal Amir.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary of Today&#8217;s News<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Difficult to press for women\u2019s quota before LS poll: SC<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Supreme Court&#8217;s response to the constitutional amendment reserving one-third of the seats in Parliament, State legislatures, and the Delhi Legislative Assembly for women reflects a positive attitude toward the goal of attaining gender parity in politics. However, the court expressed doubts about intervening to ensure the implementation of the quota law before the general election in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gyanvapi case: SC declines to intervene in Allahabad HC order<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Supreme Court has declined to entertain an appeal filed against an order issued by the Allahabad Chief Justice, Pritinker Diwaker, which withdrew petitions related to Hindu claims over the Gyanvapi mosque premises from the High Court judge who was initially hearing them.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cauvery Authority ratifies CWRC\u2019s decision on release of water to Tamil Nadu<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) approved the decision of the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) to instruct Karnataka to release 2,600 cubic feet per second (cusecs) of water to Tamil Nadu until November 23. This ratification means that the upper riparian State, Karnataka, is required to release a total of 5.17 thousand million cubic feet (tmc ft) of water to Tamil Nadu over the next three weeks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lawyers should not seek adjournments unless necessary: CJI<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Supreme Court has faced a significant number of requests for adjournment from lawyers between September 1 and November 3, 3,688 requests in total. This surge in adjournment requests prompted Chief Justice of India D.Y.
