{"id":1431,"date":"2023-12-09T07:44:28","date_gmt":"2023-12-09T07:44:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lawentranceindia.com\/blogs\/?p=1431"},"modified":"2023-12-09T08:36:01","modified_gmt":"2023-12-09T08:36:01","slug":"mlc-daily-current-affairs-09-dec-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lawentranceindia.com\/blogs\/mlc-daily-current-affairs-09-dec-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"MLC Daily Current Affairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Today in History (December 9<sup>th<\/sup>, 1946)<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>On this day, 1946 First meeting of Constituent Assembly India held in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary of Today&#8217;s News<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mahua expelled from LS, Opposition MPs walk out<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trinamool\u00a0Congress member\u00a0Mahua\u00a0Moitra was\u00a0expelled\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0Lok Sabha, based on\u00a0cash for \u00adquery\u00a0allegations.<\/li>\n<li>Parliamentary\u00a0Affairs Minister\u00a0Pralhad\u00a0Joshi\u00a0had moved\u00a0a\u00a0resolution,\u00a0which said\u00a0her\u00a0continuance\u00a0as\u00a0an MP\u00a0was\u00a0\u201cuntenable\u201d\u00a0and her\u00a0conduct\u00a0was unbecoming\u00a0of\u00a0an\u00a0MP<\/li>\n<li>Moitra\u00a0was\u00a0accused of\u00a0taking\u00a0bribes from\u00a0Dubai\u00ad based\u00a0businessman Darshan\u00a0Hiranandani\u00a0in return\u00a0for\u00a0asking\u00a0in\u00a0questions\u00a0in\u00a0Parliament<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Delhi\u2019s\u00a0unemployment rate\u00a0higher\u00a0than\u00a0national average<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The unemployment rate\u00a0(UR)\u00a0in\u00a0Delhi was\u00a0higher\u00a0than the\u00a0national\u00a0average\u00a0for 2021\u00ad22,\u00a0according\u00a0to\u00a0a\u00a0Delhi\u00a0government\u00a0report.<\/li>\n<li>It stated\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0city\u2019s\u00a0population\u00a0is\u00a0likely\u00a0to\u00a0reach\u00a02.65 crore\u00a0by\u00a02036<\/li>\n<li>There was\u00a0improvement\u00a0in\u00a0sex ratio of Delhi, however the sex ratio\u00a0is\u00a0below the\u00a0national\u00a0average<\/li>\n<li>Delhi\u2019s\u00a0sex\u00a0ratio\u00a0was\u00a0868 as\u00a0per\u00a0the\u00a02011\u00a0Census, while\u00a0the\u00a0national\u00a0average was\u00a0943.<\/li>\n<li>It is higher\u00a0than\u00a0the\u00a0national average\u00a0of\u00a04.4%\u00a0for\u00a0men and\u00a03.3%\u00a0for\u00a0women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Judges\u00a0should\u00a0not preach:\u00a0SC\u00a0on\u00a0Calcutta HC\u2019s\u00a0advice\u00a0to\u00a0girls\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0Supreme\u00a0Court asked the judges\u00a0not\u00a0to to\u00a0preach\u00a0or\u00a0express\u00a0personal\u00a0views\u00a0even in exceptional cases, regarding the remarks\u00a0in\u00a0a\u00a0Calcutta\u00a0High Court\u00a0judgment\u00a0advising adolescent\u00a0girls\u00a0to\u00a0\u201ccontrol sexual\u00a0urges\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cPrima facie,\u00a0we\u00a0are\u00a0of the\u00a0view\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0judges\u00a0are not\u00a0expected\u00a0to\u00a0express personal\u00a0views\u00a0or\u00a0preach,\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Private\u00a0Bill\u00a0seeks power\u00a0for\u00a0Assemblies to\u00a0remove\u00a0Governors<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0Bill,\u00a0moved\u00a0by\u00a0CPI (M)\u00a0MP\u00a0V.\u00a0Sivadasan, sought\u00a0to\u00a0provide\u00a0powers to\u00a0the\u00a0State\u00a0Assemblies\u00a0to remove\u00a0Governors.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0Bill\u00a0sought\u00a0amendments\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0Constitution so\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0Governor\u00a0is elected\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0members\u00a0of an\u00a0electoral\u00a0college<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>consisting\u00a0of\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Legislative Assemblies of the States and<\/li>\n<li>elected\u00a0members\u00a0of\u00a0the gram\u00a0Panchayats,<\/li>\n<li>Municipalities\u00a0and\u00a0corporations of\u00a0the\u00a0States.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0election of\u00a0the\u00a0Governor\u00a0shall\u00a0be held\u00a0in\u00a0accordance\u00a0with the\u00a0system\u00a0of\u00a0proportional representation\u00a0by\u00a0means of\u00a0the\u00a0single\u00a0transferable vote\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0voting\u00a0at\u00a0such election\u00a0shall\u00a0be\u00a0by\u00a0secret ballot,\u201d\u00a0the\u00a0Bill\u00a0said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The first-ever Indian Art, Architecture &amp;
