There was no immediate winner, but the Sikhs inflicted a crushing blow on the air of invincibility surrounding the British East India Company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Summary of Today&#8217;s News<\/h2>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Einstein Probe (EP)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>China recently sent a new astronomical satellite called the Einstein Probe into space.<\/li>\n<li>It is a\u00a0mission of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).<\/li>\n<li>It is to observe mysterious transient phenomena in the universe that flicker like fireworks.<\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0to explore the\u00a0transient and variable X-ray sky,\u00a0capturing powerful bursts of high-energy light emanating from objects such as <u>merging neutron stars and black holes.<\/u><\/li>\n<li>It was successfully\u00a0launched on January 9, 2024, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China with a &#8220;Long March-2C&#8221; rocket.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Rock glaciers<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A new study revealed that over 100 active permafrost structures identified in Jhelum basin.\n<ul>\n<li>They can cause catastrophic disasters in future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A rock glacier is a\u00a0mass of rock, ice, snow, mud, and water that moves slowly down a mountain under the influence of gravity.<\/li>\n<li>Unlike an ice glacier, rock glaciers usually\u00a0have very little ice visible at the surface.<\/li>\n<li>The rock glacier might consist of a mass of ice covered by rock debris, or it might consist of a mass of rock with interstitial ice.<\/li>\n<li>It increases the risk of glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Momentum investing<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Many academic studies have shown that momentum investing can generate high returns that comfortably beat the benchmark indices.<\/li>\n<li>It is a style of investing wherein\u00a0investors\n<ul>\n<li>Purchase assets such as stocks or bonds that are\u00a0consistently rising in price<\/li>\n<li>Sale assets\u00a0whose prices are falling.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Article 30<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4><strong><u>Context<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The Supreme Court recently attempted to strike a balance by remarking that the intent of Article 30 of the Constitution was not to ghettoise minorities by insisting they had the upper hand in administration of the institution.<\/li>\n<li>It is one of the many provisions that ensure the preservation of minority rights.<\/li>\n<li>Article 30 of the Indian Constitution states the\u00a0right of minorities to establish and administer educational institutions.<\/li>\n<li>It says: \u201cAll minorities, whether\u00a0based on religion or language, shall\u00a0have the right to establish and administer educational institutions of their choice.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong><u>Concept of Minorities:<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0Constitution of India uses the word minority but\u00a0does not define it.<\/li>\n<li>Article 30 of the Constitution of India\u00a0talks only about religious and linguistic minorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Religious Minorities are:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Muslims<\/li>\n<li>Christians<\/li>\n<li>Buddhists<\/li>\n<li>Sikhs<\/li>\n<li>Jains<\/li>\n<li>Zoroastrians (Parsis)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong><u>Linguistic Minorities<\/u><\/strong>:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Class or group of\u00a0people whose mother language or mother tongue is\u00a0different from that of the majority groups is known as the linguistic minorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Supreme Court recently said that over the last hundred years, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has continued to be an institute of national importance, without the minority tag, and asked how it matters for the people whether it is a minority institution or not.<\/li>\n<li>It is a\u00a0government-run education institution.<\/li>\n<li>It was\u00a0originally established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as the\u00a0Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875.\n<ul>\n<li>In the aftermath of the 1857 Indian War of Independence, the College was\u00a0built on Khan\u2019s conviction that it was\u00a0important for Muslims to gain education and become involved in public life and government services in India.<\/li>\n<li>Raja Jai Kishan helped\u00a0Sir Syed establish the college.<\/li>\n<li>Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College\u00a0became AMU in 1920, following the Aligarh Muslim University Act.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It refers to when bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites no longer respond to medicines used to treat them.<\/li>\n<li>It is a major health concern worldwide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rIl0Cl9WUMc\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
