{"id":1607,"date":"2024-01-19T12:18:39","date_gmt":"2024-01-19T12:18:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lawentranceindia.com\/blogs\/?p=1607"},"modified":"2024-01-19T12:29:37","modified_gmt":"2024-01-19T12:29:37","slug":"mlc-daily-current-affairs-19-jan-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lawentranceindia.com\/blogs\/mlc-daily-current-affairs-19-jan-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"MLC Daily Current Affairs &#8211; 19 Jan 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>Today in History (January 19th, 1966)<\/strong><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>On this day, an Indian politician and Congress leader belonging to the prominent Nehru family, Indira Gandhi, was elected India\u2019s fourth and first female Prime Minister.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Summary of Today&#8217;s News<\/h2>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Maritime Exercise &#8211; Ayutthaya<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Recently, the maiden Bilateral Maritime Exercise &#8211; Ayutthaya between the Indian Navy (IN) and Royal Thai Navy (RTN) was conducted.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>India-Thailand<\/strong> Bilateral Exercise is being named as \u2018Ex-Ayutthaya\u2019, which literally translates to \u2018The Invincible One\u2019 or \u2018Undefeatable\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>It symbolises the significance of two of the oldest cities <strong>Ayodhya<\/strong> in India and <strong>Ayutthaya<\/strong> in Thailand, the historic legacies, rich cultural ties and shared historical narratives dating back to several centuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Shankaracharyas<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The four Shankaracharyas recently said that they will not attend the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shankaracharya, is <strong>a\u00a0religious title<\/strong> used by the\u00a0<strong>heads of the four Hindu maths<\/strong> (monasteries) that were\u00a0established by saint\u00a0Adi Shankara.<\/li>\n<li>These maths consist of religious shrines, temples, libraries, and residences.<\/li>\n<li>These maths are\u00a0located in\n<ol>\n<li>Dwarka (Gujarat),<\/li>\n<li>Joshimath (Uttarakhand),<\/li>\n<li>Puri (Odisha), and<\/li>\n<li>Sringeri (Karnataka).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Each math, called peetha or pitha in Sanskrit, was\u00a0tasked with serving as the\u00a0custodian of one Veda each and keeping alive Vedic literature.<\/li>\n<li>Govardhan Math\u00a0in Puri is the custodian of the\u00a0Rig Veda,<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0Dwarka Sharada Peetham in Gujarat is responsible\u00a0for the Sam Veda.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0Sringeri Sharada Peetham in Karnataka is responsible\u00a0for the Yajur Veda,<\/li>\n<li>The Jyotir Math in Uttarakhand&#8217;s Joshimath for the Atharva Veda.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">SHRESHTA Scheme<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It is Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA)<\/li>\n<li>The scheme aims to\u00a0provide access to the best private residential schools for\u00a0meritorious students from Scheduled Caste (SC) communities.<\/li>\n<li>It will\u00a0provide scholarships to meritorious students from SC communities\u00a0to study in private and NGO-run residential schools for Classes 9-12.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ee6565;\">Chang\u2019e 6 Mission<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>It is mission by China<\/li>\n<li>The Chang&#8217;e 6 mission is a\u00a0planned lander designed\u00a0to return samples from the lunar south pole.<\/li>\n<li>The mission\u00a0aims to land on the Moon,\u00a0collect samples from the lunar surface, and\u00a0return them to Earth.
