In 1905, Bloody Sunday took place in Russia when workers marching on St. Petersburg were fired upon by soldiers of the Imperial Guard. Hundreds of people were killed.<\/p>\n

Ram temple\u00a0in Ayodhya<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • The\u00a0consecration of the Ram temple\u00a0in Ayodhya will be held today, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the rituals, following which the shrine will be opened for the public a day later.<\/li>\n
  • The \u201c\u00a0Pran Pratishtha<\/em>\u201d ceremony will begin at 12.20 p.m. and is expected to end by 1 p.m. Mr. Modi will then address a gathering of thousands of people.<\/li>\n
  • To commemorate the occasion, the Centre has given half-a-day off to all the Government employees which includes Public Sector Banks.<\/li>\n
  • Several States have also followed suit and declared a public holiday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Ministry of Education (MoE) directs all education institutions to provide study material in Indian languages digitally <\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

    • Schools and higher education institutions are directed to digitize study material in languages listed in the 8th Schedule of Constitution within the next three years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • National Education Policy 2020 Calls for multilingualism in education at every level.<\/li>\n
      • Article 350 A of the Constitution says that, Government should ensure children from linguistic minority groups are educated in their mother tongue at the primary stage.<\/li>\n
      • Right to Education Act 2009 says that as far as possible the medium of instruction in education should be in the mother tongue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Iniatives for education in regional language<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n

        • Anuvadini (AI based App): Translation of Engineering, Medical,\u00a0 Law, UG, PG and Skill\u00a0 books.<\/li>\n
        • e-KUMBH Portal: Launched by the AICTE to provide free access to technical education books in different Indian languages<\/li>\n
        • DIKSHA Portal: Provides study material for school education in over 30 Indian languages.<\/li>\n
        • Bhasha Sagar Project: To develop mobile application, and a web-based platform for learning Indian languages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Prime Minister launched Boeing Sukanya Program<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n
            \n
          • It is to support girl\u2019s entry into aviation sector<\/li>\n
          • Program will provide opportunities for girls and women to learn critical skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields and train for jobs in aviation sector.<\/li>\n
          • For young girls, program will create STEM Labs at 150 planned locations to spark interest in STEM careers and provide scholarships to women who are training to be pilots.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Gangetic Dolphin (Platanista gangetica)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

            • Gangetic dolphin was captured and rescued from Jalaka River in Odisha.<\/li>\n
            • Gangetic Dolphin (National Aquatic Animal of India)<\/li>\n
            • It is also known as Susu.<\/li>\n
            • Lived in Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna and Karnaphuli-Sangu of India, Nepal and Bangladesh.<\/li>\n
            • Only live in freshwater<\/li>\n
            • These are essentially blind.<\/li>\n
            • Hunt by emitting ultrasonic sounds waves.<\/li>\n
            • Females are larger than males.<\/li>\n
            • Major Threats: Poaching for dolphin oil, used as fish attractant and for medicinal purposes; Habitat fragmentation by dams etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Guidelines for Registration and Regulation of Coaching Center 2024<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

              Context: The Ministry of Education’s Department of Higher Education recently introduced the “Guidelines for Registration and Regulation of Coaching Center 2024.”<\/h4>\n
                \n
              • According to the guideline,\u00a0a \u2018coaching center\u2019 includes a center established, run, or administered by any person\u00a0to provide coaching for\u00a0any study programme,\u00a0competitive examinations, or academic support\u00a0to students at the school, college, and university level\u00a0for more than 50 students.<\/li>\n
              • Guidelines include:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Registration process, Marketing Standards, Student Enrolment, Fee Structure, Exit Policy, Infrastructure Requirements, Study hours, Mental wellbeing of students etc.<\/p>\n

                  • There are provisions for Complaint Mechanism:<\/li>\n
                  • Penalty:<\/strong> If the coaching center breaches any terms or conditions of registration or general requirements, it will\u00a0face penalties:\n

                    • 25,000 for the first violation,<\/li>\n
                    • \u00a0Rs\u00a01 lakh for a second offense,<\/li>\n
                    • Registration revocation for subsequent breaches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
