                          • It was directed while hearing a writ petition of mandamus.\n

                            • Mandamus is a writ under Article 32 which seeks to direct a public official or authority to perform a duty they are legally bound to perform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                            • In this case the petitioners requested the enforcement of Rule 9 of the Clinical Establishment (Central Government) Rules, 2012.<\/li>\n
                            • This Rule (Rule 9) mandates that hospitals and clinical establishments should display the rates\/charges, fees etc. within the range determined by the Centre in consultation with state governments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
