                      Summary of Today’s News<\/h2>\n

                      HC says Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Act \u2018unconstitutional\u2019<\/span><\/h3>\n

                      • Allahabad High Court on Friday said the Act violates principles of secularism and declared the Madarasa Education Act as unconstitutional.<\/li>\n
                      • The court said that the State has no power to create a board for religious education or to establish a board for school education only for a particular religion and philosophy associated with it.<\/li>\n
                      • The Madarsa Act violated the principle of secularism and Articles 14, 15 and 21-A of the Constitution \u2014 said it was the duty of the State to provide education, which is secular in nature, more particularly for minors, i.e., children up to the age of 18.<\/li>\n
                      • The Constitution of India Says that it is the duty of the state to provide education which is secular in nature.<\/li>\n
                      • Providing different religious education to different religious communities is the violation of basic structure of the constitution and such education or action is highly divisive of the society on religious lines.<\/li>\n
                      • The state cannot hide itself behind the excuse that it is providing traditional education on nominal fee.<\/li>\n
                      • The Supreme Court has emphasized in many cases to provide modern education which lead a bright future of children to take country forward.<\/li>\n
                      • It does not prescribe, by any stretch of imagination, limited education with emphasis only upon a particular religion.<\/li>\n
