                  Green Credit Programme to restore ecosystem<\/span><\/h3>\n

                  The government has just introduced a fresh and optional Green Credit initiative aimed at acknowledging and motivating individuals and organizations for their beneficial environmental efforts. Engaging in various activities that foster environmental sustainability can earn participants Green Credits.
                  \nGreen Credit denotes a form of incentive awarded to individuals and organizations involved in activities that generate a beneficial environmental effect. It represents a voluntary initiative launched by the government to motivate diverse stakeholders to contribute to environmental conservation and sustainable behaviors. Integrated into the overarching ‘LiFE’ campaign (Lifestyle for Environment), this program both promotes and acknowledges voluntary environmentally-friendly actions.<\/p>\n

                  Cannot blame partner for abetting suicide if relationship fails<\/span><\/h3>\n

                  The Delhi High Court ruled that individuals cannot be held responsible for aiding the suicide of a partner who takes their own life due to “love failure” or similar reasons. Justice Amit Mahajan emphasized that someone cannot be blamed for another’s suicide, especially if it results from the individual’s own decision influenced by emotional distress. The court’s decision, issued during the granting of pre-arrest bail to two individuals accused of encouraging suicide, highlights that circumstances like romantic disappointment or academic failure cannot be grounds for holding others accountable for the act. The ruling came amidst a case where a man’s father accused a woman and her male friend of instigating his son’s suicide due to a romantic entanglement. Although the deceased left a note implicating the two, the judge clarified that this expression of distress does not imply intent on their part to cause the suicide.<\/p>\n

                  PIL in HC to seek special facilities for CM Kejriwal<\/span><\/h3>\n

                  A legal action called a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in the High Court. In this PIL, someone is asking the court to ensure that if Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ever gets sent to jail, he should still have the necessary resources to continue governing Delhi effectively. Specifically, the PIL requests that arrangements be made for Kejriwal to communicate with his Ministers using videoconferencing while he’s in jail.<\/p>\n

                  Poor Doctor Patient ratio cannot be set right without better Centre-State relations<\/span><\/h3>\n

                  Implementation challenges overshadow lofty dreams, exemplified by the case of Madurai AIIMS. The idea of establishing AIIMS across India emerged from the need to address the doctor-patient ratio and healthcare demand-supply gap. The Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) was announced in 2003 to initiate this effort.<\/p>\n

                  In 2006, PMSSY commenced, leading to the creation of six AIIMS-like medical institutions.
                  \nPresently, there are 20 functional AIIMS institutions with medical colleges, and three are under development. Despite creating opportunities for students and expanding healthcare education, implementation faces hurdles. AIIMS Madurai illustrates strained central-state relations due to persistent infrastructure and manpower issues.<\/p>\n

                  Despite being a prestige project, AIIMS Madurai suffers from delayed construction and inadequate facilities. Students faced challenges due to incomplete construction, forcing them to study at a nearby hospital. Delays in construction became a political issue during the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Assurances of completion remain, but over 150 students have been affected by the delays. The original issue of addressing the doctor-population ratio remains unresolved. Collaboration between the Centre and the State is essential to ensure quality education and protect students’ interests amidst federal relations.<\/p>\n
