India’s Constitution, adopted on November 26, 1949, was largely shaped by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who warned that its success relied on implementation by leaders and the people. He emphasized the interconnectedness of liberty, equality, and fraternity, pointing out ongoing social and economic inequalities despite political equality. Over 75 years, India has made progress, but caste divisions persist. The Constitution has been amended 106 times, but concerns remain about weakening institutions.
