On April 11, 1814, the Treaty of Fontainebleau was signed between Napoleon Bonaparte and the Allied powers, ending the War of the Sixth Coalition and forcing Napoleon to abdicate as the Emperor of the French. The treaty marked the end of the Napoleonic Wars and led to the restoration of the Bourbon dynasty in France.<\/p>\n

Vibrant Village Programme launched from Kibithoo<\/em> in Arunachal Pradesh.
\n<\/strong>The Union Minister of Home Affairs, Sri Amit Shah, launched the Vibrant Village Programme<\/em> from Kibithoo<\/em> in Anjaw<\/em> District of Arunachal Pradesh. The programme aims to improve the quality of life of people living in 2967 border villages across 19 districts in Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Sikkim, and the Union Territory of Ladakh. The programme will help reverse the out-migration from these villages and improve the security in the border areas.<\/p>\n

Exercise Cope India 2023
\n<\/strong>Exercise Cope India 23 is a bilateral Air Exercise between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the United States Air Force (USAF), which aims to enhance mutual understanding between the two Air Forces and share their best practices. The Japanese Air Self Defence Force is participating in the capacity of observers. The first phase of the exercise focuses on air mobility and involves fielding C-130J and C-17 aircraft and the USAF operating an MC-130J.<\/p>\n

India to get below-normal rainfall this year.
\n<\/strong>According to Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency, the monsoon rainfall in India is expected to be 94% of the Long-Term Average (LTA) in 2023, due to increased likelihood of El-Nino which is associated with dry weather in Asia. India defines normal rainfall as between 96% and 104% of the 50-year average of 88cm for June-September month.<\/p>\n

NATO
\n<\/strong>The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an intergovernmental military alliance formed in 1949, consisting of 31 member countries from North America and Europe. Finland is the latest country to join NATO. Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty states that an attack on one member state is considered an attack on all member states and that each member state will take necessary measures, including using armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.<\/p>\n
