It is the highest French Order of Merit conferred upon military and civil individuals for upholding liberty. Famous Indians who have been awarded the Legion of Honour are <em>JRD Tata<\/em>, <em>Satyajit Ray<\/em>, <em>Amitabh Bachchan<\/em>, and <em>Shahrukh Khan<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary of Today&#8217;s News<\/h2>\n<p><strong>The Kerala Story<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Hon&#8217;ble Supreme Court of India set aside the ban imposed by the West Bengal Government on the screening of The Kerala Story and recorded the producer&#8217;s submission to clarify in a disclaimer that the film is a fictionalized account of events with no authentic data to back the suggestion that 32,000 women were converted to Islam in Kerala.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Parliament building.<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Hon&#8217;ble Prime Minister <em>Sri Narendra Modi<\/em> will inaugurate the new Parliament building on 28th May 2023, which is a four-story building designed by the Ahmedabad-based HCP Design, Planning, and Management and constructed by Tata Projects Limited. The new building can seat 888 members in the Lok Sabha and 300 members in the Rajya Sabha. The new building does not have a Central Hall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supreme Court Judges<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Government of India approved the appointment of Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and K.V. Viswanathan as the Supreme Court Judge. Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra earlier served as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. K.V. Viswanathan is a direct appointment from the Supreme Court Bar. He would be in line to become the 58th Chief Justice of India in 2030.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Papua New Guinea to sign a security pact with U.S.<br \/>\n<\/strong>A security pact to be signed between Papua New Guinea and the U.S.A. will enable the American forces access to its ports and airports. The agreement will focus on defence cooperation and maritime surveillance. It will give the United States vital movement in Papua New Guinea&#8217;s waters in the Pacific Ocean near sea routes to Australia and Japan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Law Minister<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Sri Arjun Ram Meghwal<\/em>, formerly the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, has been appointed Minister of State with independent charge of the Union Ministry of Law and Justice.
