Mount Everest is located in Nepal in the Mahalangur Himal range of the Greater Himalaya. Its height is 8,848.86 metres above the sea level.<\/p>\n<h2>Summary of Today&#8217;s News<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Malaysia Masters Super 500<br \/>\n<\/strong>H.S. Prannoy won his maiden BWF World Tour Title in the Malaysia Masters Super 500 badminton tournament. He defeated Weng Hong Yang of China to win the men&#8217;s singles finals at the Malaysia Masters Super 500 tournament. It is the first singles crown of the year for India. Akane Yamaguchi of Japan defeated Gregoria Mariska Tunjung to win the women&#8217;s singles title of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Somalia to introduce direct universal suffrage in 2024.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Somalia&#8217;s Government and federal member states said that direct universal suffrage would be introduced with local elections set for June 2024. The move follows a pledge by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in March 2023 to end a complex indirect system in place since 1969.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Palme d&#8217;Or at Cannes<br \/>\n<\/strong>Justine Triet became only the third female director ever to win the Palme d&#8217;Or at the Cannes Film Festival, for her icy tale Anatomy of a Fall, led by a riveting performance from German actress Sandra Hueller. Japan&#8217;s Koji Yakusho won the Best Actor award for Perfect Days. Merve Dizdar of Turkey won the Best Actress award for About Dry Grasses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joint Malnutrition Estimates<br \/>\n<\/strong>As per the Joint Malnutrition Estimates, released by the UNICEF, the World Health Organisation, and the World Bank, India recorded 1.6 crore fewer stunted children between 2012 and 2022. Stunting among children dropped from 41.6% in 2012 to 31.7% in 2022. Also, India&#8217;s share in global stunting prevalence dropped from 30% to 25% in the past decade. The overall prevalence of wasting in India was 18.7%, with a share of 49% in the global burden of wasting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foucault Pendulum<br \/>\n<\/strong>Foucault pendulum is a large mass suspended from a long line mounted so that its perpendicular plane of swing is not confined to a particular direction and, rotates in relation to the Earth&#8217;s surface.
