ADB projects India’s GDP growth in 2024-25 at 7%

First time in last 40 years Indian film to compete for Cannes Film award

Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia’s “All We Imagine As Light” made history by becoming the first Indian film in over 40 years to enter the prestigious Competition section of the Cannes Film Festival, contending for the Palme d’Or.
Kapadia, known for her documentary “A Night of Knowing Nothing,” now debuts her narrative feature with “All We Imagine As Light,” portraying the lives of Prabha, a nurse, and her roommate Anu, exploring themes of estrangement and dreams. This marks India’s return to the Palme d’Or competition since Mrinal Sen’s “Kharij” in 1983.
